Welcome Vineet Arora, PhD, the Center's New Bench Neuroscience Program Manager

The Raphael Center for Neurorestoration is pleased to announce the arrival of new team member Vineet Arora, PhD, as a Scientific Program Manager in Bench Neuroscience. Dr. Arora is an experienced neuroscientist with expertise investigating brain function, at the cellular, molecular, and circuit level.

Dr. Arora earned an undergraduate degree in biophysics at Panjab University in Chandigarh, India. Following his work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Kolkata, India, Dr. Arora learned molecular neuroscience skills at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen in Germany. He subsequently completed the Ph.D. program Hernández University Of Elche in Alicante, Spain. He then joined the Scripps in Jupiter, Florida, where he performed post-doctoral work on mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders and used in utero electroporation and the vitro/ex vivo patch clamp technique. He then proposed and built up an Electrophysiology Core Facility at the Byrd Alzheimer's Research Institute at the University of Southern Florida in Tampa.

At the Raphael Center for Neurorestoration, Dr. Arora will be responsible for running bench neuroscience operations, including development and refinement of in vitro 3D neural tissue specimen workflows for acute and chronic stimulation and recording electrophysiology. Dr. Arora will work closely with the engineers, data scientists, and software developers at the Center, to help build tools to identify and leverage the computational properties of individual and linked neural specimens.
