Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS)

The Raphael Center for Neurorestoration and the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Jefferson are pleased to offer the FDA-approved Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) treatment option to individuals who may benefit.

VNS involves the implantation of a small stimulator device into the neck. During rehabilitation exercises and at-home activities, The VNS is activated to gently stimulate the brain via the vagus nerve. This boost to the brain helps strengthen and create new neural pathways, like building a new bridge to bypass the damaged area.
